It's H-O-T!

My mom looked a lot more composed in the heat than I do now. The Pacific Northwest is scorching and we are just not prepared here for heat like this, nor do we like it! We set an all-time record high and we're going to set a record for the highest low tonight! Everyone including the pets and all the plants in the garden are wilting. Looking forward to fall.....

Changes in the garden.

The garden looks so different from a month ago. Poppies are gone, blueberries are ripe, I ate the first tomato yesterday, and I'm going to actually have pears this year!

More Seabold Vintage.

Head over to Liz's blog for lots more pictures from the Market on Saturday. Above is a close-up of one of my bread collages...the one Liz bought. Thank you Liz! And here are Linda's cute pincushions....

Seabold Vintage Market.

The market on Saturday was fabulous! It was a gorgeous day and Liz was the best hostess. Being my first show I really did not know what to expect, but it was the perfect venue for my stuff. All the work getting ready and setting up was so worth it. I was nervous and not quite ready with all my price tags when we opened, but no one seemed to notice. Everything except my cards and collages came from my storage locker. I'm making progress on the big purge!

I could not have done it all without all the help from Annie, Linda and Alec! Thank you dear friends!!! Linda was also selling teacup garden art and gorgeous pincushions, that sold like hotcakes (but looked more like cupcakes). Linda, do you have a picture I can post?

My first sale.

I have a booth at the Seabold Vintage Market on Saturday! If you are on Bainbridge please stop by. It's from 2:00 'til 7:00 at Seabold Community Hall on Komedal just north of Hidden Cove. I've been very busy getting ready. I'll be selling some of my cards and a lot of my old vintage stuff (part of clearing out my storage locker + closets). I've been so bad about blogging, but I will try to take lots of pictures for a big post.

Arnie the Aardvark

Many, many years ago my friend Michelle (over at EverydayMe) made me this wonderful stuffed aardvark. Let's say he's about 32 years old. He has lost his glasses, but otherwise he looks like new and he's so cute! I'm sending him to her five-year old daughter to enjoy for his next 32.

I've been very busy lately trying to get organized, cleaning out my closets and storage locker, selling some stuff on ebay, donating some and even throwing some stuff away. It feels good to lighten my load (and make a few bucks). My Aunt Sophie who passed away in May of 2008 and my mom who passed away just a few months ago were both wonderful models of not having too much stuff. They died with family and friends and life's experiences as their possessions. They were not poor. The things they did own were beautiful and treasured....there just weren't too many of them. I'm trying to follow their example and I'm beginning to feel the energy change. It may take me awhile, but I've made a start.

Ah, summertime.

Can you believe we're already halfway through 2009?
