Happy Friday! Anyone else up watching the royal wedding?
I found this rock at a shop on the Northern California coast when visiting my friend Leslie. It just says "Hand made in Kenya" on the back. It feels like sandstone.

Coastal Living!

One of my collages is in the new issue of Coastal Living (May issue)!!! See page 46...way up there in the top right corner. It was a gift for my friend, Susan Wiggs. Her gorgeous home was photographed last summer so I knew there was a chance it might be in, but I had to wait months to find out....until yesterday actually.

A new week.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I enjoyed getting in the garden on Saturday...mostly for weed pulling, but it was nice to be outside with the sun shining and getting dirt under my nails. The weekend ended with this gorgeous sunset last night. Back to work this morning and to a very hectic week...my TO DO list is jam packed. Hoping to be super productive! Wish me luck.

Look what I got in the post from my friend Patty in London yesterday....commemorative tea and biscuits for the upcoming Royal Wedding. Can I open them now, or should I wait?

Spring? When?

I posted this last year, but it is even more appropriate this year. It's been in the 30's at night all week and the Hood Canal area got snow yesterday! It's crazy. It's too cold to work in the garden and I still have the heat on!

Hand printed fabrics...

Wishing I had a lot more money so I could redecorate. Just saw this ad in my new Elle Decor (May '11) and went to their website. LOVE their colors and designs, especially the geometrics. They are all hand block printed in Philadelphia! This is art to me, really fabulous art.

Ooh la la...

On my SoCal trip last week we went to Palm Springs and there was a street market the night we were there. All the shops were open (which is a great idea because who wants to shop when it's 100 degrees outside) and I was very unimpressed until I got to Ooh la la de Paris (which includes Shoe La La and Baby La La) with fabulous and can't-find-them-everywhere clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags and more. I don't see a website, but the address is 301 North Palm Canyon Drive and you can google them. I had to have this Marimekko inspired bag...

Yesterday was NATIONAL START WALKING DAY! Who knew?! I didn't until I saw it on the news last night, BUT I did go buy a new pair of sneakers yesterday with the intention of starting a new walking regimen. It's been a long trek back from knee surgery, but I think I'm ready.

A Perfectly Kept House...

My new library book: A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of a Misspent Life by Mary Randolph Carter. Subtitle: How to live creatively with collections, clutter, work, kids, pets, art, etc... and stop worrying about everything being perfectly in its place. This book makes me feel so much better about my piles of clutter and work-in-progress on the dining room table. Gorgeous images and wonderful anecdotes! I might have to buy this one.

Sunset from Huntington Beach...

Oh it's hard to come back to the Pacific Northwest after a week in Southern California where the temps were in the 80's and 90's. We had a fabulous 80th birthday party for my dad and I got to catch up with lots of friends and family. It is always nice to come home, but when is spring going to arrive here???
