Last day of May.

Where did this month go? It flew by me as did this holiday weekend. It didn't rain a drop at my house and I spent almost the entire weekend in the garden...mostly weeding, but I did finally get my tomato starts in...pumpkins and zucchini this week, sunflowers too! My body is feeling it, especially my 50-year old hands.

See you in June!

Flower rock.

You know how I love rocks...can't come home from a walk on the beach without my pockets full of them. Well I'm always looking for fun things to do/make with my collection. I spotted this gorgeous assemblage over on the very talented Jenny Doh's blog this morning which has given me lots of ideas.
A few of my rock posts: here, here and here.

August to August.

I know, I'm a bit premature, but I love when the new August to August calendars come out. I like having first pick of all the new colors. I had to go with pink again this year...my favorite color. I got mine at Paper Products, but Eagle Harbor Books has them too (here on the Island).

With sympathy.

Unfortunately, I've been sending a lot of sympathy cards lately.

Wish I was here.

This is where I want to be today...in the garden with a hot cup of tea and a good book! Not happening though. I'm off to work; maybe I'll get home in time to enjoy the garden a bit. It is staying light later and later.

Pop.

The first poppy of the season opened today!

Nice weekend.

I had the house to myself this weekend. I did lots of cleaning, but I also made a mess. Lots of creating happened on this table and late into the night! I love it when I have a large chunk of time just to craft. Happy Monday!

Recycling.

This is what I do with my old magazines...cut out images, mount them on black and make cards. This set was a gift!

Spring? Is it really you?

Look what's coming up/blooming in the garden (besides weeds, that is)....

Dear Mother Nature,

Pleeeeease can we have sunshine more than two days in a row.

Loot from "Junk Salvation"

Home from the Funky Junk Sisters show in Puyallup. A good time was had by all. I didn't do too much shopping, but I did come home with a few fun things.

Gift tags with stamps from 1962 found at Bee & Mason.

Old maps for collaging from One Gal's Trash.
Love the colors in this tea towel I got in Gail's booth.

Vintage buttons for card-making from Roost Reimagined.
Vintage apron...loved the floral fabric. Again, from One Gal's Trash.
And beautiful silver napkin rings.

An evening walk.

It rained almost all day today, but the sun came out this evening in time for a walk with the dog. These tulips are just down the street. I don't know why the deer don't eat them...they eat mine!

How'd it get to be Monday already?

The weekend was far too short! I did get a lot done, but I need more weekend. And more of the gorgeous weather we had yesterday. It just starting pouring.
On Saturday my friend, Anne, and I went to Seattle for two fabulous shows...Remodelista and the 6th Annual Flying House Art & Craft Sale (flying house above). I get so inspired by all of these talented, creative, fun people. I loved every vendor/artist, but a few really stood out....Studio PatrĂ³ from San Francisco, Rough Linen, and Bainbridge Blues at Remodelista. Becky Brooks' collages, Norma Jean Byrkett's watercolors, and the amazing polvorone cookies (Spanish shortbread) from Hazel of Sweet Coconut Bakery at Flying House.
Hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go...
