A new month.
"Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

Low tide.
I'm dog/cat/house-sitting for two neighbors this week. So I was out early walking and watering. Got everything done before 9:00 a.m.
Working on some creative stuff in between shifts.

Happy Sunday! Hope it's sunny wherever you are.

Wednesday words.
Saw this quote on morningcoach.com! It was too cute not to share.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

U-pick blueberries.
Feeling blessed to have this u-pick blueberry farm on our little island.
I went on Friday after work and picked for myself and a friend.
I need to go back this week to pick for the freezer!

Wednesday words.
Look within yourself.
Trust your own heart, your instincts, and your intuition
to help you embrace your authentic self,
your soul's purpose and true nature.

SF Modern.
Wow, I'm loving this house in the new issue of Dwell. I don't know if I could live with that much exposure, especially in the city, but it's gorgeous! When was the last time you were impressed, or even noticed, a garage door...this one is amazing. And how about those porthole windows, set in glass! Read the whole article here. Thanks Dwell.

Washington State Pie!
Oh my, I just stumbled upon this site....The Corbé Company is making plates for every state! How clever! You can bake in them or just use them as serving dishes.

Future Beauty at SAM.
I'm not into fashion much at all....jeans and a blouse and I'm happy. So I wasn't super interested in seeing the new show at the Seattle Art Museum, but I'm so happy I went on First Thursday this week. It's fabulous!

Up-cycled cards!
Before recycling my magazines I cut out all the images that catch my eye.
Then trim them and mount them on cardstock.
They make a great gift or it's just great to have cards on hand when you need them!
(I never sell these cards because of the copyright...just recycling!)

Modern Quilt Studio.
Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle of the Modern Quilt Studio came to Bainbridge Island last night for a lecture at the art museum (where I happen to work...how convenient!). Fabulous talk, slide show and show + tell! A big thank you to Kathy at Pink Chalk Studios and Barbara at Esther's for bringing these international stars to our little island!
This one below was my favorite; "Fabric Fusion" is the pattern and you
can get it here on the Modern Quilt Studio website.

Happy succulent.
This tiny little succulent growing in Patty's garden is
just another reminder that Mother Nature rules!
She is such an inspiration to me!

Lavender.
Did anyone go to Sequim for the Lavender Festival this weekend? I had to miss it this year, but have my own little crop here. I brought some in and it has fragranced the whole house! I'm loving summertime.
Happy Monday!

The dahlia jungle.
What a summer we are having here in the Pacific Northwest. I'm pinching myself because it hasn't been this good in a long time. The garden is going a little crazy and since knee surgery on Wednesday I'm not able to do much, but watch it grow. There are worse things, I know. And I'm recovering quickly from the surgery. I have my follow-up appointment tomorrow and will start physical therapy this week. On the mend!
Happy Sunday!

Last night, last walk.
I witnessed the most beautiful sky on my walk with the doggie last night.
I'm having knee surgery today so that was my last evening walk for a little while.
It's just a meniscus repair and I'll be back at work by Monday,
but not 100% for a few weeks.

I love hydrangeas!
My friend Patty has about 22 different varieties of hydrangeas in her garden. I was over there yesterday and she sent me home with the most beautiful arrangement!

Coming soon...Joan of Cards @ SASH Mercantile!
There is a wonderful new marketplace going in at the new Pleasant Beach Village on the south end of Bainbridge Island. Read a little bit about it here, here, and here. SASH Mercantile, run by the wonderful Peggy Fish and Sally Samson, will have one of the stalls inside and they will be carrying my cards! It should open mid-month....it's looking like July 12th. Stay tuned!
It's just across the street from The Treehouse Café and Lynwood Theatre!
