I picked up some cute Mrs. Grossman's stickers at Paper Zone in Seattle and used them in some fun cards. I don't think my friend who is so into whipped cream checks my blog, but the first card is for her November birthday.

Feeling like fall.

This is the view from my kitchen sink. The picture really doesn't do it justice...the colors are just amazing. I feel like I've been too busy to enjoy it all though. This really is my favorite time of year, but I'm overwhelmed with STUFF....from housework and taxes to teenagers and trying to budget with not enough money. Work was really slow today so I came home early and have thoroughly enjoyed this bonus time. A little cleaning, a little blogging and a little baseball playoffs on tv. =) I am walking around the house in polarfleece! It's freezing and I'm trying not to turn on the heat. It is definitely feeling like fall.....

Time to start prepping the garden for winter.

The crows are happy that I haven't cut down all the dead sunflowers.

It was a lovely day.

I am one lucky woman. From the cake at the end of the workday yesterday to breakfast in Port Townsend this morning, a walk in Chief Chetzemoka Park, the Mariners winning in the bottom of the 14th, all the calls and facebook comments from friends and family, a walk on the beach with the dog at sunset....and the presents! My life is far from perfect, but today it came pretty darn close. Thank you.

Something to blog about.

It's is my birthday! I'm one happy girl. Look what arrived from Portland. My friend Pam over at One Gal's Trash spoils me. She blogged about finding this pie plate at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago and I commented how much I loved it. Now it's mine and I'm already making plans for fall baking. Thank you Pam!!!

Ahh, September.

My favorite time of year. September is when kids go back to school, fall begins, baseball penant races are in full swing, and it's my birthday month! I love the small changes in the weather almost everyday...the crisp mornings and the trees changing into beautiful reds, oranges and yellows. Not that I don't like the summer, it's just that I really dislike the lack of any routine, kids (and husband) sleeping in much too late and me having to be quiet in our little house, and the heat...alas, that is what gives us these amazing tomatoes that I am devouring like candy these days.

A very messy table.

I've got work to do! Yesterday I decided to open some boxes to sort....ebay, craig's list, charity, trash. This is what my table ended up looking like. It is the only place for us to eat besides our laps so I must get busy, but the garden is calling me too. Rain is forecast for tomorrow so I think the garden is going to get my attention first. HAPPY FRIDAY!

August nights.

Last night's sunset...

Just had my dad visiting from California. He's a very easy guest. His favorite thing to do is hang out down at the beach. Here he is at Point No Point (Kitsap County, Washington). It was very relaxing for me. Now it's back to work and getting ready for school to start. My son has already left for college. Of course he was home before Mother's Day and did have to leave early for some job training, but I can't believe how quickly the summer has passed.

My sunflowers grew taller this year than they ever have before...

they are amazing. I can't even get close to get a photo.

Hello August.

It's H-O-T!

My mom looked a lot more composed in the heat than I do now. The Pacific Northwest is scorching and we are just not prepared here for heat like this, nor do we like it! We set an all-time record high and we're going to set a record for the highest low tonight! Everyone including the pets and all the plants in the garden are wilting. Looking forward to fall.....

Changes in the garden.

The garden looks so different from a month ago. Poppies are gone, blueberries are ripe, I ate the first tomato yesterday, and I'm going to actually have pears this year!

Seabold Vintage Market.

The market on Saturday was fabulous! It was a gorgeous day and Liz was the best hostess. Being my first show I really did not know what to expect, but it was the perfect venue for my stuff. All the work getting ready and setting up was so worth it. I was nervous and not quite ready with all my price tags when we opened, but no one seemed to notice. Everything except my cards and collages came from my storage locker. I'm making progress on the big purge!

I could not have done it all without all the help from Annie, Linda and Alec! Thank you dear friends!!! Linda was also selling teacup garden art and gorgeous pincushions, that sold like hotcakes (but looked more like cupcakes). Linda, do you have a picture I can post?
