I'll finish with these and call it a collection. It's becoming obvious that I save a lot, but I'm nowhere near the gal from A Collection A Day.
The Aetna one isn't really that old, I just like it. And the last one...a total Calvin Klein copycat.

I guess you could call this one of my collections. I forgot I had it until reading Beach Bungalow 8's post on Monday. I still love these ads...they're classic and oh so sexy! I have a few more "vintage" ads that I'll share with you over the next couple of days.

A recycled quilt.

Picked up this book at Esther's, my local quilt shop. I was attracted to the "green" element and love the quilt patterns inside.

So on Saturday at the Rotary Auction here on the Island I looked for men's shirts. As many as you can fit in a paper grocery bag is $10. I got 22 for $20. I've already started cutting and I have not figured out how much fabric I have yet, but I think I have 3/4 to a yard from each shirt. Now that is a deal!

I washed them all...
Cut off all the useless bits like buttons...

...and tags.
{It was interesting cutting off the tags and seeing where all of these shirts were made. Bangladesh, Romania, India, Mauritius, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Madagascar, Korea. One from Indonesia with Egyptian cotton and none from the U.S.}

And, finally, the waste....cuffs, collars and seams.

I ended up with a tall stack of fabric ready to cut, piece and quilt!

Double-digit scores.

20 years ago today...

I became a mom.

Yes, my oldest is 20 years old today.

Here's a little birthday collage I did for him a couple of years ago.

Quilt Shop Hop.

Quilt Shop Hop starts today in Western Washington. Becky and I are heading out early to Puyallup and making our way back shop by shop. I hope to hit 16 by Sunday so I can get entered into the drawing! Wish me luck!

Strawberries.

There's nothing like fresh strawberries in my oatmeal,

except for maybe fresh strawberries on French vanilla ice cream.

Or, if we were at Wimbledon, it would be strawberries and cream.

Wimbledon.

I lived in Wimbledon in the early 90's and have very fond memories of this time of year. There's going to be some competition for the television this fortnight with World Cup and tennis to watch...especially at 4:30 in the morning! There's an opening round nail-biter going on right now on ESPN2.
