Philly.

I took a 24-hour detour down to Philadelphia when I was on the east coast last week. My daughter's WWU crew team was invited to the Dad Vail regatta and it was purely coincidence that I got to be there. After Saturday's race I had a few hours in the fabulous Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The story goes that Philadelphia is the birthplace of rowing in the U.S.

and they take it very seriously. 

There wasn't much time for sightseeing, but after dinner we did walk around town a bit.

Lake Stevens Regatta Day.

Yesterday was the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Championships held at Lake Stevens, WA....gotta love local, sunny regatta days!

 At the end of the day they had a fun race for the coxswains to row...

and Isabel picked up her third 1st place medal!

Last Saturday.

I went up to Bellingham, to Lake Samish to watch my daughter in her first collegiate regatta as a coxswain. It was a sunny, but cold day with very calm water.....a thoroughly enjoyable outing!
