Old friends.

Remember those "old" friends I mentioned yesterday? Well, I'm having lunch with them today! Here are some before pictures.....and I mean way before (just so you're not too surprised when you see the afters).

One year.

I cannot believe it has been a year since my mom passed away. It has been a most difficult year, but it has also flown by so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was sitting with her and so often I reach for the phone to tell her something I know she'd love. She taught me so much and continues to do so. I miss you mom!!!

I'm in Southern California to be with my dad, soak up some warm sun and see some old friends.

Aunt Jackie.

My husband's aunt passed away recently. I just came across this photo of the two of them when we went to visit her in Paris shortly after we were married...21 years ago. We lived in London at the time and we drove down to Paris on my husband's BMW motorcyle. What a nice memory.

Bowling.

Last week I went bowling with my 19-year old son. I had a blast! I beat him so he probably would not say the same. I think it's the last thing I can still win. Both of my kids have now surpassed me at almost everything. But the whole bowling thing brings back wonderful memories of bowling with my dad as a young girl. We'd go on Saturday mornings for breakfast and three games. I even had my own ball, but he always won.

Jelly Belly.

Is it just me, or does the Easter (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine) candy arrive in the stores much too early....so early that I've eaten X number of bags already and I'm so sick of it! I can't tell you what the X stands for, I'm too embarrassed, but I do indeed have a jelly belly. :-)))

Block-a-month.

I'm working on a quilt with a block-a-month group. This will be my fourth quilt and I'm learning to do triangles the "Thangle" way...sewing and then cutting. I'm liking it a lot. The first four blocks are above. I've finished five and six and need to do seven and eight to catch up with the group. There will be twelve blocks when we're finished and then we get to do sashing, border and finishing...can't wait. Our super-talented leader is Marybeth from White Lotus Quilting....she has longarm quilted my last two quilts and has a few photos on her website here and here.
Happy Monday!

Yummy beds.

I'm cleaning out files and sharing some of my many magazine clippings. Here are some very comfy looking beds... I aplogize for not giving credit where due, but I tore these out a long time ago before I even knew about blogging.

Pottery Barn.

I had to order a few of these cute little watering cans from the new Pottery Barn catalogue. Are they not adorable??? They're only $5.00.
Speaking of this catalog, there are some gorgeous images inside. I guess I'm missing a lot of my "shelter" magazines, but this is satisfying a need right now.
Love these cubbies....
They even have Denyse Schmidt designing quilts...

Shopping.

Well, I had my last day at Paper Products last week. It was bittersweet. I am moving on to a new job and I have over a week off before I start, but I am really going to miss my friends and being surrounded by creativity every day. Of course I will visit them often, but now I'll have to shop without my discount. The photos are of a couple of my puchases before leaving....the KOCO notepads and the Linnea Design stickers.

Sunset.

Today was absolutely gorgeous and after spending almost the whole day inside working on projects I had to get outside, so I sat on the beach while the sun went down (along with the temperature). It's suppose to rain tomorrow believe it or not....but that's okay I'm watching the Oscars from early afternoon on....

Happy Birthday Pam!

C. S. Lewis said, "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What! You, too? Thought I was the only one.'" That moment happened a long time ago with this dear friend. Here's to good friends and continuing to celebrate birthdays! Cheers!
BTW, that's Pam of One Gal's Trash!
