Tea bag curtain hung!

I finally hung my tea bag curtain posted about awhile ago here and here. I was originally going to cover two windows in the mudroom, but decided one looked better in the kitchen, where the window was wider so I had to add a few rows. Views from inside and out...

I know you've all seen these great cards from Curly Girl Design...they're everywhere! And they should be, they are so fun. I had to share a few here...

Another soaking.

Just when you thought it was safe to put the polarfleece away. Oh, it
really poured the last two days and last night was chilly!
Well, no need to water the garden, it's soaked...

...and it did make for another beautiful sunset.

Anniversary.

Monday would have been my parents' 52nd wedding anniversary. They were married in Boston in 1957 when she was 20 and he was 26. I know it was sad day for my dad, but he was in Texas with my sister so that was a good distraction....dogs and kids and he loves puttering around her house. Staying busy is a good thing. I think it'll be hard for him to go back to an empty house tomorrow.

The 1970's for sure!

A card I made for their 50th.

Low Tide.

Ahh, the ebb and flow of life...it would be so boring without it.
Happy Sunday!

Pets in the garden.

Chai Chai the cat....

... and Taggerung the dog.

Keep calm.

Another magazine clipping...this one of an old poster from the U.K., rediscovered recently. I mounted it on some black cardstock and it sits on my desk reminding me to, well yes, keep calm. I just discovered that Dani over at Rubber Soul in Poulsbo sells a rubber stamp of it...check out her blog post with all the history!

School's out!

Then and now...
My son is home from his first year in college. He's happy, I'm happy.

Out the front door.

It's still a little too cool to leave the front door open for very long, but I'm tempted to tell everyone to put a sweater on indoors just so I can. It's gorgeous!!! Oh and the dog too...Taggerung, our lab/chow mix.

Structure.

Yes, the garden is about planting and growing, but it's also about art and structure and beauty.....and what the garden looks like in the dead of winter when not much is growing. Here are a few of the many clippings I cut from magazines as I dream and plan my garden.

Happy Mother's Day!

"The most important thing she'd
learned over the years was that there
was no way to be a perfect mother and
a million ways to be a good one."

Finally!

What a difference a couple of days makes. Sun, sun and more sun today! I did some tedious things in the garden today, but it was so nice to be out there.

This is a beautiful peony that my friend Sally brought me from her father's garden.

And tonight's sunset. Good night. :-)
