Thanksgiving movies.

Usually one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving is all the new movies coming out, but I have to say I'm not thrilled about the choices this year. Breaking Dawn, Happy Feet Two, A Dangerous Method, Hugo...none of them grabbing me. Maybe The Descendants and My Week with Marilyn, but on the top of my list this weekend is Eames: The Architect and The Painter.

An evening walk.

What a gorgeous evening it was! I bundled up and took the dog for a walk...so glad I did. It gave me some energy to keep going on my projects : ).

Shirts.

Before and after...

My friend Stuart is moving to New Jersey....boohoo! She's been very busy cleaning out their house because they'll be moving into a smaller place with both the kids gone now. Well, hubby's closet got a downsizing....much to my benefit. He had fabulous shirts just waiting to be made into a quilt. I spent last night cutting off all the collars, cuffs and buttons so I'd have fabric ready to go. Thank you Stuart and David!!!

My little sister is 49 today!

New fabric.

I'm loving these three new fabrics I picked up at Esther's here on the Island. The top one is "Savannah" from Clothworks and the second two are from Moda's "Hometown" line. I'm not sure if I'm going to work them into a quilt, or something else, but I like them altogether.

Fall table.

The power was threatening to go out on Friday evening during a storm so I lit some candles just before dark. It never went out, but the table looked so pretty, and even though no one was home for dinner, I left them lit and enjoyed the ambiance!

Without a car.

I'm trying to take the bus and walk and not depend on a car so much. Some days are easier than others here in the Pacific Northwest, but it feels really good when it works!

Cranberry turnovers.

I don't think I can wait until I have leftover cranberry sauce to try these....

Aunt Mickey.

Happy Birthday to my Aunt Mickey, on the left with my mom in a pic from the 60's. She's my dad's youngest sister (of five sisters) and is the only one that ended up on the east coast. We talk on the phone, but I love it when we can get together because she is my kindred spirit...collector and crafter!

Stationery junkie.

I am a stationery junkie. Boxes, drawers, plates all filled with beautiful papers, cards, pens, stamps (rubber and postage), inks, clips....you name it, I've got it. So when I see an article like this one from November's Country Living I ogle every little thing!

David Leaser.

Sorting through recent magazines before putting out the recycling this morning. Came across this from photographer David Leaser from the October issue of Sunset. I love every little detail of a flower and he really captures it! Lots more on his website. Just amazing.

Hot chocolate!

I just discovered that Starbucks is selling individual packets of hot chocolate. Izzy and I splurged (and it was a splurge even though they were on sale at Safeway) and so glad we did. It's really good!
