High Line NYC.

Twenty four hours ago I was walking the High Line in NYC, an old elevated railway that has been turned into a park with a gorgeous path through part of the city, beautiful plantings and lots of public art (more of which I'll share later). Well I'm home now and ready to walk out the door to work, but I took over 200 photos and I wanted to start sharing a few of them. These are from yesterday's walk. Check out the history here.

Birthday present.

I made a little box of Quotes & Affirmations for my daughter's birthday last week. I used an empty card box that was too beautiful to throw away. I added the labels on top and all the quotes and affirmations inside. She loved it!

Lake Stevens Regatta Day.

Yesterday was the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Championships held at Lake Stevens, WA....gotta love local, sunny regatta days!

 At the end of the day they had a fun race for the coxswains to row...

and Isabel picked up her third 1st place medal!

Jackie Robinson.

Sixty-six years ago today Jackie Robinson debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers as the first black player in the major leagues. I'm proud of the MLB for honoring him and retiring his #42 league-wide. He played his last game in 1956, but not before playing in six World Series and six All-Star games, winning Rookie of the Year and and an MVP award. AND these accolades were nothing compared to what he did off the field. You can read more here. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Hollywood movie, heard it's good.

We have a wonderful new store in the neighborhood....Vintage Home and Garden. Morgan has exquisite taste and her shop is so welcoming. She's also a photographer and posts amazing photos from her shop here, on her FB page.  I bought a fun letter J for my studio and stationery made from vintage wallpaper!
