Ok Joan, you are THE FIRST blog I've joined!! Anything for you :) I will try to find a pic that will post - first one was apparently "too big."

Very nice blog Joan - looking forward to reading it during those not so crazy moments with a cup of tea of course. Big Susan Wiggs fan - first started reading her books about 6 years ago after searching high and low for a good summer beach read - the cover caught my eye. Became an instant fan of Avalon and her great characters and yet I've also read her other work and have really enjoyed them as well. I share her books with my sisters, mom and friends and they are now big Wiggs' fans too ;)

I can't wait to read this book. When my daughter left for college 5 years ago, it was tough, but she was 4 hours away. But knowing that in three months she leaves for the other side of the country is ripping out my heart. Now it's a plane ride. Thanks for the chance~~

I'm looking forward to reading the book and seeing your pattern. I can certainly relate to the premise - 2 of our daughters went out of state for college (we were in VA at the time, and they were in MD and NJ). Now we live in the Atlanta area where 2 of them also live, as well as my son, but daughter #3 lives in the Fremont area of Seattle. We were there to visit her in Sept - one day was beautiful! Took the ferry to Bainbridge Island - what a charming place! Had lunch at the Streamliner Diner and of course had to visit the fabric shop!

What is the quilt pattern name in the "Goodbye Quilt"? I'm trying to find a pattern on line as the one in the book is small and hard to copy.
My neighbor wants me to make two lap quilts to remember their grandmother by (she just passed away) and this would be a great way to use the dresses, etc. they brought me

Thanks, Joan! I love your blog, but just hadn't looked lately. I am now a "follower" in addition to having you on my Google Reader. :) Can't resist a chance to win a book, and that's cool that Susan's your friend.
