Leaving London far too soon, I caught a train out of Liverpool Street Station to Audley End, where my dear friends, James and Caroline live in Thaxted with their three daughters. Their home is so charming and so English! My bedroom was in the "old part" of the house built around 1620 with original wood floors and exposed beams...as cozy as could be. James is an architect and has done a fabulous remodel, updating and extending the house to accommodate a family of five with all the mod cons!
The little town of Thaxted, the gorgeous estate at Audley End, and the slightly larger town of Saffron Walden were all so delightful. Sharing a few too many pics, but I could not stop taking photos of the beauty and charm!
